Unicorn Party: Everly Turns Five
Just before last Christmas Everly told me she wanted a unicorn themed party for her birthday. I assumed because her birthday wasn’t for another seven months she would change her mind; but she didn’t. :p
Lucky for me, unicorns are trending in a big way right now so it wasn’t hard to pull things together for the party. I got most of the party accessories from Home Sense, Winners and Party City.
Her cake was made by someone I know who has a small cake business and she has been doing the kids cakes for years now. (I am great with cupcakes but not so much with fondant themed cakes. Hehe.) I sent her a picture of what I wanted, and she replicated it exactly. Everly loved the cake and couldn’t wait to get her hands on the unicorn horn.
The backdrop was all purchased from Home Sense and I love that I can re-use everything. The loot bags and “I’d Rather Be A Unicorn” cutlery holder were also purchased from Home Sense.
The plates, hats, cups, blowers, balloons and one of a kind sign were all purchased from Party City.
I LOVE planning the kids birthdays and look forward to it every year. The kids birthdays are three weeks apart so it can get a bit crazy planning them back to back.
I can honestly say this is probably the first year I haven’t turned to Pinterest for some ideas. I had a few things in mind that I wanted to do and just kept everything else simple. Don’t get me wrong though, I love a good Pinterest find.
In a perfect world event planning in something I would love to take up on the side, but there are barely enough hours in the day as it is. For now I will just stick to planning my kids birthday parties.
If you are planning a unicorn party, I hope this offered you some inspiration!
I know! Thanks Kaye!
