I am so happy to finally have our powder room remodel complete! It has been six months in the making – seriously! We purchased 95% of what we needed back in March, before everything shut down due to Covid-19. Jesse didn’t have as much time off work as he thought he would, so we held off starting it. Then fast forward to having a baby and a couple of months later, here we are!

The before and after pictures are my favourite. I can’t believe I lived with this wall colour this long. :p

I had a vision of what I wanted it to look like and I could not be any happier with how it turned out.

We replaced the tile, painted the walls, added shiplap, painted the vanity & replaced its hardware, changed the light fixture, mirror and bathroom hardware.

I went back and forth with the floor tile. I debated going with something bold with a pattern, but decided to stick with a solid colour that wasn’t just a basic rectangle or square. Jesse found these at Home Depot and they were perfect. I loved the hexagon shape but keep in mind that smaller tiles will take more time and are more challenging to cut.

I knew I wanted to do a shiplap wall, and decided the backwall would be the best option. We used pine and then painted it white. I wanted something neutral for the remaining three walls and chose Behr Marquee Interior Eggshell in Wheat Bread.

My goal was to stick with gold and black as accent colours, and I am so glad I went with this colour combo! The gold faucett, black and gold light, and gold towel & toilet paper holder were all purchased from Home Depot.

I wanted to save money with the vanity and decided I would just paint it. I wanted something bold that would match the floors and compliment the walls so we went with Behr Marquee in.

I picked up some new gold hardware for the vanity from Home Depot and the gold touch really pulled the vanity together.

The black mirror I ordered online from Walmart, and the shelf above the toilet I purchased from Home Sense.

The Wash sign and water print are from my faourite local Sign & Print Shop, Pink Lemon Decor.

I am still missing a mat for in front of the vanity but haven’t found one small enough that I love so I am holding out for it.

I am so pleased with how this renovation turned out and how inexpensive it was to do. Save money and work with what you have. You may be surprised with how well it turns out!
