In the Spring I did a blog post with some of my favourite home decor finds for Spring from Home Sense. (If you missed it and wanted to check it out click here.)

I was at Home Sense the other day and realized I was surrounded by Fall decor (insert tears) and thought it would be a great time to pull together a similar post for Fall. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Fall. Crisp days, bulky warm sweaters and all of the beautiful colours, but at the same time I am in no rush to let go of summer.

It’s only been in the last couple of years that I really started decorating for Fall (aside from outdoor planters and a wreath for the front door). I do have a September 1st rule though; I won’t put anything out for Fall until then. That’s just me; to each their own. As for Halloween decor, I only add a few items throughout the house and won’t put any of it out until a week or two before Halloween.

I have to say the one thing I was really disappointed in was their selection of Fall wreaths. I will keep an eye out as September approaches but I am thinking I will do another DIY wreath for Fall. I did one several years ago and shared it on my old blog; Michaels Craft Store also featured it on their Pinterest page, but I will share more on that at a later date. 🙂

I found a lot of really cute items for Fall and picked a few of my favourites to share with you.

I love all the cute colours and textures of gourds this year! I think these three grouped together would look really nice on a sideboard or table. Mixing textures and colours is what Fall is all about. Don’t be afraid to play around!
(Twig Gourd $16.99; Green Ceramic Gourd $19.99; Cream Velvet Gourd $9.99)

I loved the look of this candle holder. I envisioned one on each side of my front doors, so these came home with me. There are three different sizes ranging in price from $24.99 to $39.99. I chose two in the middle size which were $29.99. Another thing I liked about them was their versatility. They aren’t something to only be used in the Fall, you could use them on a patio in the Summer as well.

You could also pair two different sized ones and add a faux pumpkin or even a real orange or white pumpkin. If I was to pair two different sized ones together I would add a larger white pumpkin and a few smaller orange gourds around them.
(Grey Pumpkin $34.99)

Faux wheat seems to be a big trend in terms of faux plants for Fall. Personally, I am not a big fan, but when I paired this particular item with a few other things, I really liked the look pulled together.

These would look nice grouped together on a table at the front entryway of your home.
(Bronze Wooden Pumpkin $12.99; Faux Wheat Planter $16.99; Grey & Copper Gourd: $6.99)

Wooden crates are also a big trend this Fall. There were a lot of really cute ones, some plain and some with words or phrases. This would be great for storing items at the front door or in a mudroom.
(Wooden Crate $19.99)

I LOVED this little table centrepiece. I loved the textures of the faux plants, the little white gourds and the tin planter. This would be perfect on your table for Thanksgiving Dinner, and if you have a longer table, you could even use two, if you space them out.
(Faux Flower Box $19.99)

Last but not least, I pulled together a quick table setting to provide you with some inspiration for Thanksgiving Dinner. (Don’t mind the wrapped napkins. Hehe.)

Something simple and classy, yet modern. You may see some of these items incorporated into my Thanksgiving table this year. I loved the wicker placemats paired with classic white plates. Although these plates are both solid white, the pattern difference in the two adds both texture and dimension. Finish off the setting with a napkin that incorporates Fall colours and you have the perfect Fall table setting.
(Set of 8 Grey Wicker Placemats $14.99; Large Plate $4.99; Small Plate $6.99; Set of 6 Napkins: $12.99)

I hope this provided you with some inspiration for Fall home decor!

Home Sense Fall Finds

by | Aug 28, 2018 | Holidays, Home Decor, Seasonal, Shopping, Style, Uncategorized

Disclaimer: Christmas is in a few weeks and everything from here on out will most likely be Christmas related. This is great though, right? This year I got some matching pj’s for the kids and I; and I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favourite pj’s for the whole family with you. Who doesn’t love a new pair of pj’s for the Holidays? I would have to say my favourite ones this Holiday season are the buffalo plaid sets from Old Navy. I bought a set for each of the kids and myself, and we have worn them multiple times. We decorated the tree in them and have had hot chocolate (with extra marshmallows of course) in them on more than one occasion. IMG_1101 2 They also have the same print in men’s bottoms; however, no luck on the tops. I can’t imagine why…

All of these are from Old Navy and they have so many colour options to choose from. I love the thermal sets and of course the classic flannel for men. H&M also has cute sets for adults and children. I love this flannel set for women because it has this pretty gold thread woven through it that almost makes them feel fancy. Is that a thing? Fancy pj’s? If not, it should be. I mean after all, pj’s are an acceptable form of attire on Christmas. hmgoepprod Cute, right? This set is under $35 and fits true to size.

These kids sets are also from H&M and I thought the reindeer was so cute! I love the little plaid set for girls; both are under $18. I also found a cute pair of men’s flannels that look super comfy. hmgoepprod (3) Carters always has such fun pj’s during the Holidays. When the kids were babies, 95% of their clothes were from Carters and I always have a feeling of nostalgia whenever I walk through the store.

Everly actually has last year’s penguin pj’s and I think this year’s are even cuter. These sets are $20 and are oh so cozy! Last but not least: a plaid flannel set I found for myself while grocery shopping last weekend. I purchased these for under $35 plus an additional 30% off and they are so soft and warm. 1Z@2x They’re from Joe Fresh and they had so many other patterns and different colours of plaid. I have been all about red plaid but loved this blue/green combo. I would size up a size in these. That’s my round up for pj’s for the holidays and you better believe after I pick the kids up from school today we will be changing into pj’s for the rest of the night.
